A Thrift Store Find Solves a Decorating Dilemma

After waiting 12 years to find the perfect art for a large blank wall, my client is jumping for joy! At Holy Redeemer Thrift Store in Hatboro, Pa, I found the perfect oil painting. The design and the colors really compliment the stair case with the 20 foot ceiling. The decorating dilemma was finally solved.

One Gives and One Receives

Today we celebrate Martin Luther King Day. "The time is always right to do what is right." is a quote of his that is especially meaningful to me. MLK Day is designated as a day of volunteering. Volunteering is so fulfilling. You get more from it then you give.

Deserving Decor, of which I am a founding member, furnishes and decorates transitional housing units for the Bucks Co Housing Group. Giving homeless families "design for dignity". One gives and one receives - using donated furnishings and accessories, the transformations really come together. As a decorator and home stager, I never cease to be amazed at the outcome.

Consider donating or volunteering. You will not only touch the lives of others, you will touch the depths of your own heart and soul.

See for yourself...

The Power of Color With Wall Paint!

Color is an important part of our life. We see it all around us in nature. It evokes our emotions. Take some time to look around and find the colors in nature that inspire you and excite your senses.

As a decorator, I see my clients struggle with color selections for their homes. Paint is the most effective way to make a huge change / statement in your home. It is also the most inexpensive home make over fix.

If you are struggling to decide on the perfect color for your project, consider a professional Color Consultation. An inspiration piece is a great starting point. Inspiration can come from art, dishes, drapery fabric, upholstery, wall paper, carpet, etc. This becomes the foundation for your design.

Complimentary color consultations are available at Sherwin Williams in Quakertown, Pa one Saturday a month. Sharon will be happy to assist you in simplifying the color selection process. Bring your "inspiration" piece with you, along with photos of the room. Call the store ( 215-536-4000) for the date and time. Private in store and in home color consultations are also available.

The right color for your room will have a major impact on the way you feel about your living space. Experience the power of color!
